7 Days of Silverbacks continues, and with thanks to the team at Twycross Zoo, you can check out the enormous hand and foot prints of a Western lowland gorilla!

A gorilla’s foot can reach 35 centimetres (14 inches)! Like humans they have five toes, but they have better dexterity and are able to grasp and hold items with their long, flexible toes.

The hand of a silverback gorilla can be 28cm (11 inches) long! Their thumbs are opposable, and they can uproot trees with their strong fingers.

As well as having fingerprints, every gorilla has a unique nose print! No two gorillas have identical folds around their nose, so each nose print is individual.
